The Young Lawyers Committee of the Federal Communications Bar Association (FCBA) and the FCBA Foundation are seeking donations and sponsors for the 34th Annual FCBA Charity Auction.  Over the past 33 years, the Charity Auction has raised more than $2 million for DC-based charities.

Auction Details:  The Auction will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at The Madison Hotel, 1177 15th Street NW, Washington, DC 20005 from approximately 6:30 – 10:00 p.m.  Admission is free and the event is open to the public.

Auction Beneficiaries:  Generation Hope strives to ensure all young parents who are currently enrolled as students and their children have the opportunity to succeed. This non-profit helps its beneficiaries to experience economic mobility with direct support to collegiate teen parents and their children through holistic, two-generation programming. Support to the Auction and Generation Hope’s mission will assist with tuition support and emergency funding for program participants. Generation Hope Scholars have impressively graduated at double the rate for low-income college students and eight times the rate for single mothers nationwide. By participating in this year’s auction, you would help support Generation Hope’s wrap-around services for teen parents and their children. For young parents, Generation Hope’s Scholar Program provides mentoring, tuition assistance, a peer community, and other vital, collaborative services.  Generation Hope also serves children of scholars with the Next Generation Academy, which provides robust literacy, academic, and social-emotional support that prepares children for early education opportunities.

Additionally, support of the auction will assist the FCBA Foundation in supporting its annual scholarship program. Auction proceeds will be used to provide financial assistance and laptop computers to DC public high school students to help them thrive in college. Each year, the Foundation reviews applications from local high school students of diverse backgrounds and selects scholarship recipients based on their financial need, academic achievements, and service to school and community.  This year, the FCBA Foundation was able to provide new laptops and $167,000 in scholarships to 24 DC high school students.
